Cardinals Sign a Pair

The Yorkton Cardinals are announcing that a pair of freshmen ballplayers from MT. San Antonio Jr. College have signed with the Yorkton Cardinals for the 2010 Summer Collegiate season.

The Cardinals continue with their philosophy of giving first year Collegiate ballplayers an opportunity to taste the next level, thereby reaping the rewards of potential future MLB drafted players showing that they bettered their baseball careers in Yorkton.

Kenny Kissell is a RHP from Covina CA and Charter Oak Highschool. Kenny is the younger brother of Cody who was a mainstay CF with the Cardinals in 2007. The Cardinals were extremely pleased with Cody Kissell's play in 2007, so when presented the opportunity to recruit Kenny, it was an opportunity not to pass up. The exciting note about Kenny is that not only is he a high quality pitcher, he also is a good batter and fielder. Kenny is the second player joining the Cardinals for 2007 to exhibit terrific two way ability. Kenny played Legion on the Post 755 summer team in 2009.

Jake Bailey is also a former Charter Oak highschool player that is currently attending his first year at Mt. Sac College. Jake has great credentials at catcher and may fulfill the Cardinal desire of recruiting more pop in the lineup. Regardless, Jake will get an opportunity to play baseball in 2010 far from home and at a level that will take his best performances to compete on a daily basis. Jake also played with Post 755 Legion in the summer of 2009.

Cardinal baseball is extremely excited to introduce North American freshmen players to the WMBL
